YAY! my hometwon girl Miss Virgina Caressa Carman wins Miss America. so i havent been to Virginia since 7th grade but i feel a bit of conection to the state ya' know since i was born there. Caressa played best against 53 other girls and sang Beyonce's "listen" as her talent. aww she makes me so proud to be born in the big VA!

How to Tip well

a nice fail tip is about 15% to 20% of your total bill after tax. If you don't think you can afford it, then go to a restaurant that doesn't have table service or stay home and cook. Skipping the tip is absolutely not allowed (and the karma gods will hunt you down for it).

Sometimes servers give less-than-awesome service to teens because they expect you to be bad tippers. My advice: give them a great tip anyway. They'll realize they were judging you unfairly, and they'll probably be a lot nicer to the next group of teens.

Global Warming, its real

Global warming has been getting a lot of attention in the media lately and with good reason. It is a drastic environmental problem with worldwide implications. Scientists around the world are publishing data that supports the conclusion that the problem will cause noticeable damage in the very near future.
So if all of the attention in the news about global warming gets to be bothersome and you find yourself thinking “I just don’t care,” then think again. We’re all in this together and whether you realize it or not, there is probably something that you value in life that global warming threatens. And to really stop the hub-bub, go out and DO SOMETHING. If you get enough people involved, hopefully someday this problem will be solved and you will never have to hear about it again.

"Dazed and Confused"
With the 1970s backdrop, quirky characters and cult following, how could this musical not be amazing? Throw in some covers of any of the rock classics that were in the original soundtrack and we’ve got ourselves a musical masterpiece. Think "Across the Universe" meets "American Graffiti."



"The Breakfast Club"
This 80s classic has all the ingredients of a good musical: the star-crossed lovers, the unexpected transformations and the feel-good happy ending. Plus, to see our five favorite detention goers busting a move and belting out ballads would be, like, totally awesome.



"Clueless"
If Elle Woods can have her own musical, so can Cher Horowitz. The clothes alone would make this hilarious satire worth seeing onstage. And it’s got the potential for some killer hip hop numbers (Dionne/Murray rap battle? Yes!)
